Bedroom Bliss Essentials

Your bedroom should be your own private sanctuary and oasis you can retreat to at the end of a long day.

It’s important to get everything right, including the bed and mattress most importantly.

Here’s my must have essentials list:-

1. Bed frame, bed head or Create your own DIY headboard – mine is the Arya King bed from Super Amart

2. Quality mattress (see further on for my recommendations) – Orthokinetic Ultra Stratus

3. Bedside tables – from Kmart

4. Lamps x 2 – copper lamps from Oz Design

5. Pretty bed linen, cushions and throw (see details further)

6. Rug

7. Artwork

If your redecorating or starting out new, decide on your decor style and colours that you are drawn to. Remember our decorating style reflects our own personality.

Once you’ve chosen your beautiful new bed, I cannot stress the importance to invest in a top quality mattress. I made this mistake once and soon realised you pay for quality and a good nights sleep is so worth it!

I personally invested in an Orthokinetic mattress from Super Amart. These mattresses are of superior quality and a variety of styles, comfort levels to suit all budgets.

Once you’ve selected all the essentials, then the fun begins of styling. So many lovely stores have beautiful linen, cushions & throws. Be sure to use these, as they add layers, texture and colour. I recently noted whilst on the Super Amart website they have a large range of bedlinen available from contemporary modern, to Scandi inspired soft pastels.

Style the room from the floor up! starting with a rug, this will add a level of symmetry, luxury and appear to make the room look more finished. A Rug is like artwork for the floor. And don’t forget the artwork for your walls. I suggest initially one focal one above your bed and select linen, cushions and throws to compliment the colours in the artwork.

Finally, place matching lamps on your beside tables and create a vignette on each. Could be a small cluster of vases, booked and candles. Arrange in various heights.  For further bedroom inspiration, be sure to check out these links.
